Bird-Dog Grooming was born of the shared love of dogs held by its founders Susana and Philip and the desire to create a pet business that would allow them to care for animals in an ethical and sustainable way.

With a background in creative arts education and education funding respectively, Philip and Susana saw dog grooming offered an opportunity to combine creative skills with their desire to promote animal welfare. In early 2019, Philip completed a combined Level 2 and Level 3 dog grooming course to gain a full understanding of the requirements of dog grooming while developing a business plan and brand identity with his business partner, Susana.

The business was successfully launched and began trading at the end of 2019. Despite a challenging start due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, Philip and Susana have established a successful and growing business that delivers the values they strived for – as well as a lot of happy dogs!
